Cinema, literature, and criticism after market reforms in the mainland Chinese culture industry, including the growth of commercial popular literature and entertainment cinema as well as the emergence of independent or alternative culture. Styles of realism throughout the history of Chinese cinemas, including their theoretical bases and transnational influences.
